After years of manufacturing industrial detergents and being (over)exposed to a myriad of toxic chemicals on a daily basis, Jared Gettinger had enough.

He decided it was time to come clean and bring his work life into harmony with his personal passion for health and wellness. So in 2009, he took a leap of faith:

No sulfates, silicones, phthalates, formaldehyde, or any other crazy chemical from his past work life are used either. "Honesty is about transparency", he says. "For better or for worse, we have an absolute right to know exactly what's in our products."
